Father’s Day is coming up in a few weeks, and I thought this craft would be the perfect accent for any celebration having to do with Dad. These cute boats could be used on the front of a greeting card, as a mini sculpture or even as hanging home decor.

Materials you will need:

– assorted newspaper and tissue paper scraps
– paper wrapped wire (can be found in the floral isle of the craft store)
– clear liquid glue
– small pair of scissors
– stickers

Step 1: Floral wire should be very pliable and easy to mold. I used green paper covered wire, but it is also available in white or an assortment of other colors. Create a triangle shape for the sail as pictured, and a small half circle for the boat.

Step 2: Apply a generous amount of glue to one side of each ship made of wire. Add a scrap of paper to the sail, and a contrasting piece to the bottom part. The lighter the paper the better, otherwise it will not stick very easily.

Step 3: Allow the ships to dry completely. They will turn into a big mess if you trim them before they are ready!

Step 4: Trim around the paper carefully with small scissors and the ‘ship’ shape will emerge.

Step 5: Decorate with small stickers to add more character to your sailboats, then proudly display them!
