Instead of just a traditional card for mom this year, why not make her an adorable ‘doily doll’ to hang in the kitchen or living room for Mother’s Day? This sweet keepsake is sure to be treasured for a long time after it’s gifted 😉

Materials you will need:

  • Small doilies (can be found in the baking isle, dollar store or a craft supply shop)
  • White card stock
  • Thin markers
  • String
  • Beads
  • Stapler
  • Tape + glue stick
  • Small stickers

Step 1: Fold a small doily in half. This will be used as the ‘skirt’ for your doll. Cut the other doily in half, and then in half again. This will be used as the top of the dress.

Step 2: Cut out the face, neck and arms for your doll using the picture shown as your guide. I wanted to make mine a rabbit, but of course a little girl or any other animal would be just as cute!

Step 3: Cut a piece of string (approximately 8 – 10 inches long) and fold it loosely. Tie a bead to each end. These will be the feet for your doll, and the string will serve as the legs.

Step 4: Using a glue stick or tape, adhere the white doll face to the cut quarter piece of doily as shown. Staple all the components together to form the body. This part can be a bit tricky, and might require a few staples to get it just right.

Step 5: Tape a loop of string to the back of the doll so you can hang it as you wish, or leave it flat and adhere it to a card or gift. Mom will love this cute doily doll any way that you present it!
