I absolutely love the sea, so any craft projects that celebrate the seaside are good with me. I was really pleased then to be a sent a new book from the lovely people at RPS called Seaside Tinkered Treasures by Elyse Major.
The book is billed as ’35 adorable projects to bring the seashore home’ and it truly doesn’t disappoint. I have loved reading through all of the projects and will definitely be trying a few out over the coming weeks. There is a gorgeous clock, a bird house, a natural wreath, some super cute flipflop adornments and loads more. What really strikes me about the craft ideas is how pretty they all are, there really wasn’t one that I wouldn’t be proud to have in my home. They are also the kind of projects that children will love, and ones that older kids could definitely try, under adult supervision. Many of the ideas would also make great gifts and very cool adornments for a seaside themed party.
I very quickly tried out one of the projects, and made a pretty pinwheel or windmill. Now considering I didn’t really have all the items to hand, and I made it on a stormy Saturday afternoon, I’m still pretty pleased at the way it came out and will be making some more. I have added a little picture so you can see my creation 🙂
If you want to make your beach holiday last a little longer this year, then this book is the way to do it. You can even make use of some of the items you collect while you are away, such as shells and lolly sticks, by turning them into something that will remind you of those long Summer days.
RPS have also kindly given me 1 copy of the book to give away to one of you lovely readers. If you want to read the very quick T&Cs for the giveaway then you can do so here. The closing date for the giveaway is 11.59 GMT on the 18th August 2014 (quick, only one week from today) and it’s open for entries worldwide.
