** This giveaway is now closed and the lucky winner, drawn by random number generator, is Dina Newton-Edwards, who left the following comment “My first crafting memory is learning to knit, along with my sister, and then working on a cardigan that my mother was knitting for each of us. I think she probably had to unpick and redo my knitting!”
Congrats Dina, I will be mailing you to get the book sent out. Thanks to all those who entered **
After first seeing Tilly Walnes on last year’s Great British Sewing Bee, I immediately checked out her sewing blog Tilly and the Buttons and loved what I saw.
It was exciting then to see that Tilly was coming out with her first book, especially as she wrote on her blog about the process of getting the book deal.
That book, Love at First Stitch (Amazon UK/Amazon USA) is now in my hands and I can say that it doesn’t disappoint. I love the freshness of the design, the style of the clothes and Tilly’s encouragement that ‘you can do this’ throughout.
If you want to get started dressmaking then it can seem a very daunting prospect. This book demystifies that process and walks you through it step by step. Also packaged with the book are 3 full size pattern sheets, which include all the necessary pieces for 5 of the designs. If you have the material, the sewing machine and this book, then you are on your way to becoming a dressmaker.
I have 1 copy of the book to giveaway to one of you lovely readers. If you want to read the very quick T&Cs for the giveaway then you can do so here. The closing date for the giveaway is 11.59 GMT on the 8th June 2014 and it’s open for entries worldwide.
