If you are the type that wants to increase the home’s appeal, but does not want to spend a fortune on fancy art pieces, there is an easy and satisfying solution. That of course is canvas wall art that you can do by yourself. The beauty of canvas wall art is that it is extremely easy to do. It is a great craft that has a strong effect on enhancing your walls, and did I mention your bragging rights! Here are a few simple canvas wall art ideas to help spice up your home.
Painters tape can be your new best friend when you’re decorating your walls with canvas. The tape can be used effectively in stenciling straight lines onto a canvas. The key is to paint the whole canvas whatever color you want your lines to be, before you put on the tape. After the base coat is dry, tape various shapes or lines across the canvas in any design you have in mind. Then paint the canvas using designs, or even just using one solid color. Once the paint is dry, then pull the tape off and enjoy your masterpiece. You will be amazed at how addictive this can become.
Old wall paper
Another extremely easy and satisfying wall piece includes wall paper and all the cool designs they offer. This one is very self-explanatory. Simply find some wallpaper that you think has a really cool design. Cut the wallpaper into a rectangle or square, whichever matches the dimensions of the canvas. Make sure to include about an inch and a half of extra wall paper around the outside. Wrap the inch and a half perimeter around the canvas and staple it to the back.
Using letters in your wall art is always a great and trendy way to decorate your walls. All you need is some felt or large foam stickers, spray paint, and a canvas. Attach whatever letters or phrase you want to include on your canvas, and then use at least 2 coats of primer to the canvas to seal the letters to the canvas. After the primer dry’s, simply begin spray painting the canvas however you want.
