Are you looking for a way of recording your holiday memories whilst unleashing your creative side? Travel scrapbooking is a great way of creating your own beautiful travel keepsake to cherish for years to come. Each time you flick through its pages memories and little details from your trip will come flooding back.
Scrapbooking is a popular way of collating and collaging photos and pieces of memorabilia to create stunning, exciting and creative visual collections of memories. You can create a scrapbook about just about anything including hobbies, friendships, celebrations, events, places, relationships, pets, fashion, family and lots more, the sky’s the limit. Scrapbooks can be great keepsakes for you and also make fantastic, thoughtful gifts for friends and family.
To create a travel scrapbook you will need to collect and keep little bits of memorabilia from the places you visit throughout your trip. The kinds of things that you should keep include travel tickets, baggage tags, receipts, shopping bags, maps, leftover foreign currency, fliers, business cards, leaflets, tourist attraction guidebooks, travel itineraries, labels and packaging from food and drink, recipes for local cuisine, napkins, takeaway menus, postcards and of course plenty of your own photos.
When you get back from your travels you can then arrange all of your memorabilia or photos in your scrapbook however you like either by day, activity or city, depending how long your trip was. Maps of the area that you stayed in make great backing paper to collage on top of.
If you feel like you don’t have enough memorabilia to create the look that you want there are plenty of craft shops that sell scrapbooking supplies in all kinds of themes. You can buy travel-themed backing paper, stickers and other crafty items to tie the pages of your scrapbook together and give the whole thing continuity and a professional, polished appearance.
If you love the idea of having a travel scrapbook but you’re not keen on the idea of buying tons of supplies or if you’re not very artistic then why not try digital scrapbooking? There are plenty of photo websites that allow you to use your photos to create digital scrapbooks online and then pay for them to be printed and sent to you in the post.
Scrapbooking is an accessible hobby for anyone who wants to give it a go. A travel scrapbook will help you to remember things about your trip that would otherwise be forgotten such as the restaurant you ate at, the local beers you sampled and the exact location and history of the attractions that you visited. It also allows you to record your memories in a way that is completely unique and personal to you and loads of fun too.
