From the same authors that brought us the stunning The Everything Alice: The Wonderland Book of Makes and Bakes comes a new book celebrating The Wizard of Oz. We interviewed Christine Leech and Hannah Read-Baldrey back in July last year, when they were just bringing out the Alice book. At this time I asked them about their future plans and Hannah teased us with the following “This is definitely not the last project you will see us producing, yes there are lots of exciting discussions at the moment, one of which you will have to wait until next summer to see!”
Well, the Summer is here and that exciting project is here – Hurrah! Everything Oz: The Wizard Book of Makes & Bakes is filled to the rafters with cool crafty ideas to try. Baking, sewing, woodwork, papercrafts, there is something for everyone here. Two of my very favourites are the Star of Oz and Toto’s Decorated Doghouse…..both are just stunning.
If you would like to try it for yourself then the wonderful news is that I have 1 copy of the book to give away to one lucky reader, courtesy of Quadrille.
You can enter the competition from any country – although just be aware that as I am shipping it from the UK, it may take a little while to reach you if you are far away. The book launches in the UK on the 5th July, but there isn’t a date set yet for the USA, so if the lucky winner comes from across the pond they will be one of the first to get their hands on a copy
There will be one winner chosen by random number generator on Sunday 8th July 2011 at 10pm GMT. To enter you need to follow the two steps below, the winner will be contacted via email, but if the person doesn’t claim their prize within 21 days by providing their postal address, the prize will be up for offer another month.
No other prizes are available and Art of Crafts decision on how the prize is awarded is final! Ok rules over – let’s get going!
To Be In With a Chance of Winning – Please follow these 2 steps:
Step 1: Please Like the Art of Crafts page on Facebook, which you can find here: Art of Crafts Facebook Page
Step 2: Leave a comment below telling me your favourite character from The Wizard of Oz.
Good luck everyone, and remember, there’s no place like home, there’s no place………..

It’s got to be toto!
Being a dog lover Toto takes 1st place followed by Lion, must be an animal thing.
It’s the Cowardly Lion – “from topamus to bottomus!”
It’s got to be Dorothy – those red shoes are to die for!
Ooooo, this is a tough one but I think I’ll have to go witttttth….. The Witch (the bad one)
x
No one else can have flying pet monkies, melt from hot water and grow a field of poppies in a matter of seconds like she can!
I adore all the characters in the Wizard of Oz but I would have to say Toto because this little guy is not only cute but very smart
Lynn xx
my favourite is Judy because like she says there is no place like home!! <3
One of my favourite films of all time! My favourite characters are the Munchkins, in particular the Lollipop Guild! lol! And the coroner. Jxxx
Got to be toto as I love dogs. Next to my children who are now grown up – she’s what gets me up every day x
One of my favourite movies eve-Christmas isn’t the same if it’s not on TV! My favourite character is glinda the good witch because I got to play her in our school play aged 11!
I really like the Wizard of Oz, it’s great that he is not really a wizard, I love all the contraptions he uses to pretend to be magical & the fact that he can help Dorothy, the Lion & Tinman in a practical way
I would have to say the lion is my favourite character. We all lack courage at some time but if you’re surrounded by good friends, you can take on anything. xx
I like the “horse of a different color”. Does he count as a “character”? LOL. 2nd to him, it’s the scarecrow. He may not have any brains, but he has a HUGE heart!!
The Wizard of Oz has always been my all time favorite movie and we are blessed to live within a few miles of Chittenango….where it all began.
I love Dorothy!
