There is nothing quite like giving and receiving a handmade gift. For the person on the receiving end of the gift they have something that is unique to them and something that has been made with love and care. For the giver of the gift they have enjoyed crafting something that they know will be appreciated and in these harsher economic times they have saved money by giving something where the value far outweighs the cost.
There is still plenty of time to make some gifts in time for this coming holiday season and if you are a knitter I definitely recommend Knits to Give by Debbie Bliss (and isn’t Bliss a great name for a crafter). Debbie Bliss is well known for her designs in both the USA and UK and launched her own knitting magazine in 2008.
This book is broken down into 5 sections which means that you can make gifts: For Him, For Her, For Baby, For Kids and For The Home, so there are plenty of ideas which will appeal year-round and for almost every occasion. The patterns also range in ability so even the novice knitter can find something lovely to make and then work their way up as their skill increases.
This is definitely going to be a well-thumbed book for me and I already have some people catered for this Christmas.
